About Coille Alba

We are a small not-profit-sharing organisation based in the north of Scotland.  Our mission is to support the sustainable management of native woodlands for the benefit of woodland owners, local communities and the wider public. We do this in a variety of ways:

  • we provide management advice and contracting services to the owners and managers of native woodlands
  • we provide information and training in various aspects of native woodland management through publications and workshops
  • we create opportunities for local communities and volunteers to become actively involved in native woodland management.

Currently, our activities are focussed mainly on four projects:

  • Controlling Invasive Non-native plants
  • Managing Aspen woodland
  • Restoring Ancient woodlands on PAWS sites
  • Grazing in woodlands

How you can help - volunteer at Coille Alba!

We create opportunities for local communities and volunteers to become actively involved in native woodland management. Volunteering with us means also making new friends and lots of activity out in the fresh air. If you'd like to volunteer with us or our partner organisations, please contact us.
